The Chile Air Force (FACH) reported to us today that the Bell UH-1H’s they purchased from us, H-81 and H-82, were busy on rescue missions in the Southern part of Chile. On April 22, 2006, Southern Chile was struck by a devastating Earthquake that took several lives and where people were washed out to sea from landslides and giant waves. H-81 and H-82 were the cornerstones of the fleet while conducting these operations reports the FACH. They have operated marvelously, flying in adverse climates and difficult terrain, states Air Force Captain Carlos Pfeiffer Ruiz. We wish the FACH good luck and our condolences go out to the civilians of Chile who are affected by this disaster.
