The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has recently taken delivery of their newly painted UH-1H Fire Fighting Helicopter. Known as “Rotor 1”, this is the first UH-1H in the fleet to carry the DNR’s new paint scheme. These helicopters are used in Fire Fighting operations throughout the State of Washington. Shown here is part of the DNR Aviation Group accepting the helicopter after it was delivered by Northwest Helicopters CEO, Brian Reynolds. Upon delivery a comment from the Department manger was quoted as saying “It’s too nice to go out on the fires”. We take that as a compliment in knowing they are pleased with the workmanship of the Northwest staff and especially painting technician, Warren Harris. The DNR has now contracted a second Helicopter to be refurbish by NWH which is underway now to be ready for this years fire season.
