Airlift takes delivery of Huey Plus |

Airlift Construction from Southern California has just taken delivery
of their UH-1H-703 Huey Plus refurbished for lift work by Northwest
Helicopters. This Helicopter features the upgraded -703 engine with
1800 H.P., Mechanical Specialties belly hook, High skids, Bubble door,
tailboom strakes, and Fast Fin from BLR. In this photo is new owner
pilot Glenn Smith departing our Heliport for home. It seems the
performance from this modified helicopter has been fantastic! Glen
reports “The ship fly’s very smooth and lifts great!” He was lifting
3900 pound new Lexus cars at only 44 lbs. of torque on the ships first

Northwest becomes BLR Dealer |

Northwest Helicopters has been appointed to be a dealer/installer for
Boundary Layer Research Aviation Solutions. BLR is the manufacturer of
performance enhancing Strake and Fast Fin kits. We have installed
several of these units on customers Helicopters and they have reported

Newly refurbished UH-1H taken to HAI |

Northwest Helicopters took a near new Bell UH-1H to display at the
Helicopter Association International convention in Dallas Texas on
February 26-28 2006. This helicopter started out as a bare fuselage and
was completed in about 3 months. The technicians at NWH did a great job
making this possibly one of the finest Huey’s in the world today.
Thousands of Huey fans came to see and have their picture taken in this
fine machine. This helicopter was built as an example of what a modern
day Huey would be complete with EFIS cockpit. You can see more details
on this helicopter in our for sale section as it looks for a new owner.

Cobra in the movies |

Northwest sent this Bell AH-1 Cobra to Miami Florida for a 20th Century
Fox motion picture movie. The Cobra stared in a modern day police force
comedy movie due out in the theaters in January of 2007. Working with
aerial coordinator Paul Barth and Camera Copters, the production went
off without a hitch although we did get a lot of attention flying
around downtown Miami. Stay tuned for more details.
