Chile Air Force (FACH) officers Captain Carlos Pfeiffer Ruiz and Lieutenant Gianni (Johnny) Di Giammarino Schimunek shown here accepting delivery of another Bell UH-1H on behalf of the Armed forces of their country. The FACH has ordered and taken delivery of several UH-1H Helicopters from Northwest in the last year. These ships go on to augment other UH-1’s in current service with the FACH around the world. These helicopters were completely refurbished by the technicians at Northwest back to “like new” standards and are the pride of the FACH UH-1H Fleet. This project was monitored buy the Air Force officers in Chile using our customer forum system that allows continues communication with the client 24 hours a day 7 days a week using pictures and text on every major part of the helicopter building process. For security this system is password protected so that only the FACH and the Northwest staff could view the data. We would like to thank Mr. Pablo Solis, our representative in Chile for his assistance on this project. We also want to thank our own Spanish speaking staff member here in Olympia, Mr. Sergio Aries who can be reached at

Business finds global niche for its remodels Jim Szymanski/The Olympian
OLYMPIA -- Air forces in the Philippines and Chile use helicopters remodeled at Northwest Helicopters near Olympia Regional Airport. The company has been providing helicopter services around the world since 1978. It began with a single helicopter that served the Washington state forest industry, but today is expanding by serving the militaries of friendly nations with remodeled surplus U.S. military helicopters.
Under president Brian Reynolds, who bought the company in 1985, Northwest Helicopters has grown to the largest helicopter company in the state, and one of a handful like it across the nation.
